3-Day Tusheti Horseback Riding Tour

We kick off our adventure at 7:00 AM, heading north through the picturesque Gombori Pass into Kakheti to visit the historic Alaverdi Cathedral. From there, the real off-road expedition begins as we tackle the breathtaking Abano Pass (2,826 m), stopping for a scenic picnic lunch surrounded by wild mountain landscapes. By early afternoon, we arrive in Upper Omalo to settle into our cozy guesthouse. After a short rest, we’ll explore the historic Keselo Towers and drive down into the dramatic Gometsari Valley to visit Dochu—arguably the most stunning village in the gorge with its unique stone architecture. We'll wrap up the day back in Omalo to experience the rich culture of authentic Tushetian food and hospitality

Fuel up with a traditional breakfast at 9:00 AM before meeting your horses for an unforgettable alpine ride up the breathtaking Unagira Mountain (3,050 m). As you ride along the ridge, you’ll be treated to jaw-dropping 360-degree views stretching across both the Pirikiti and Gometsari valleys, with distant glimpses of legendary stone villages like Bochorna, Dartlo, Kvavlo, and Chesho. (Tip: Visiting between mid-June and mid-July treats you to blooming wild rhododendrons and a hidden alpine lake!). Afterward, we head back to our Omalo guesthouse for a relaxing evening and a well-deserved traditional dinner.

After a leisurely breakfast at 9:00 AM, we take some time to explore Lower Omalo, including a visit to the local ethnographic museum and more views of the Keselo Towers. Then, we board our 4x4 vehicle for the scenic return drive across the Abano Pass toward Tbilisi, stopping for a peaceful picnic lunch in nature along the way.
