Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival to Tbilisi

Overnight in Tbilisi (B)
Day 2: Tour around Tbilisi
Visiting Tbilisi. A walk around the city, during which we will get to know various corners of the Georgian capital. We will see, among others one of the most important temples of the Georgian Orthodox Church - Sioni Cathedral and the famous Metekhi Temple, rising above the Mtkvari River. We will walk along the famous Peace Bridge and then take the gondola to the hill with the famous Narikala Fortress. It is from here that one of the most beautiful views of Tbilisi unfolds. In the afternoon, visitors will be able to relax in the Abanotubani sulfur baths or get lost in the winding streets of the old town, full of pubs famous for their unique atmosphere.

Day 3: David Garedja and Sighnaghi tour
After breakfast, drive to David Garedja and visit a complex of monasteries located in a semi-arid area right on the border with Azerbaijan. The complex owes its name to David - the first monk to settle here in the 6th century in a cave on Mount Gareja. Transfer to the village of Udabno, located in the middle of the Georgian steppe. Lunch break in a local restaurant. With a bit of weather luck, a short walk in the charming colorful mountains. We will also visit the Bodbe Monastery, which is the main destination of Georgian pilgrimages. It is here, in the privacy of a small monastery, that the body of St. Nino, thanks to whom Christianity was introduced in Georgia in the 4th century. Drive to Sighnaghi and walk around the famous city of love. There is an amazing view from Sighnaghi of the Alazani Valley, famous for its vine cultivation. At the end of the day, a visit to one of the local vineyards.

Day 4: Tour in Kakheti
We are exploring Kakheti - a region rich in viticulture and the production of the best Georgian wine. We will drive to Kvareli where we will visit local winery. Later we will visit Historical complex of Nekresi and Gremi monastery. We will visit the Tsinandali Palace, where the father of Georgian Romanticism, Alexander Chavchavadze, lived and worked.  After a day full of new knowledge, we will go to the Telavi area, the capital of Kakheti, to another vineyard, where we will have the opportunity to relax and try local wines.

Day 5: Tour to Khevsureti
V-Day: Tour to Khevsureti

All-day drive to the Caucasus Mountains to the stunning land of Khevsureti. We will also see the famous Alaverdi Monastery and Kvetera complex.   Drive through the famous Datvis Jvari pass (2876 m above sea level), which offers breathtaking views of the Caucasus. The Khevsureti region is known not only for its amazing mountain landscape, but also for its cities - fortresses and medieval defense towers. Overnight in the village of Shatili, located a few kilometers from the border with Chechnya.

Driving distance: 210 km; Time: 6 hours. Walking distance: 2 km; Time: 1-2 hour
Day 6: Tour to Khevsureti
All day discovering local spots. A walk around Shatili, a fortress city located in the Valley. A visit to the abandoned town of Mutso, rising on a steep slope above the Andakistskali River. Visiting small village Ardoti, from where you will have picturesque views on main Caucasus mountains.

Driving distance: 50 km; Time: 4 hours. Walking distance: 4-5 km; Time: 3 hours
Day 7: Tour to Kazbegi
All-day drive to Stepantsminda, a town in the High Caucasus region. On the way, we will stop in Ananuri to visit the 17th-century fortress of Georgian princes, picturesquely integrated into the mountain panorama with the Zhinvali lake in the background. Then, along the Georgian Military Road, we will reach Stepantsminda, a town located at the foot of the slumbering Kazbek volcano.

Driving distance: 220 km; Time: 6 hours. Walking distance: 2 km; Time: 1 hour
Day 8: Tour to Kazbegi
We will spend the whole day in the vicinity of Stepantsminda (formerly Kazbegi). In the morning, we will go to the Cminda Sameba Monastery, rising above the city, at the foot of Mount Kazbek. With a bit of luck, we'll be able to see the volcano in all its glory. We will drive to see Gveleti waterfalls. We will also go trekking in the Juta Valley to see the Georgian Dolomites - the soaring peaks of the Chaukhi Massif.
Overnight in Stepantsminda (HB)

Driving distance: 80 km; Time: 2 hours. Walking distance: 10 km; Time: 6 hour
Day 9: Mtskheta tour
After breakfast, drive to the former capital of Georgia - Mtskheta. A walk around the old town and a visit to the Cathedral of Svetitskhoveli, which is the burial place of many Georgian rulers. Visiting the temple of St. Cross - Jvari from the 6th century, from which there is a beautiful panorama of Mtskheta. Drive to Uplistsikhe, an ancient rock city. Return to Tbilisi and farewell supra.

Pharmacy: In Khevsureti there is no pharmacy. So if someone has a specific disease and is treated with a special drug, then he has to buy in Tbilisi before starting the tour or must have it with him.
