Our Day Tour to Uplistsikhe, Gori, and Borjomi covers the most notable places nearby Tbilisi. You will see an important site – the ancient town of Uplistsikhe (VI century BC), carved in the rock. Later you will visit the birthplace of Stalin – Gori, and finally, we will drive to Borjomi.
Gori is famous as the birthplace of Soviet dictator Stalin. It is also the administrative center of the Shida Kartli region. Cave town Uplistsikhe is located a few kilometers from Gori. It is the most interesting monument in the Kartli region and was a spiritual center of pagan Georgia.
Borjomi is a resort town in south-central Georgia, 160 km from Tbilisi. The town is noted for:
On this tour, you will visit Borjomi’s mineral water park, dating back to 1850. It occupies a narrow wooded valley and includes the town’s original mineral water source, Ekaterina Spring, straight ahead from the entrance to the park. You can also walk about 3km upstream to several small, spring-fed swimming pools with a constant temperature of about 27°C. If you plan to walk there, bring your swimming suit and flip-flops; towels are provided. You can also use an old cableway to visit the upper part of Borjomi central park. There is a nice view of the city.
