Overview

GUDAURI is the closest ski resort to Tbilisi. It has well-developed infrastructure, the greatest difference in altitude, and unlimited possibilities for freeride and backcountry ski touring. The resort is the highest settlement on the Georgian Military Road (old name “Heavenly Gorge”) at an altitude of 2000 m. The season in Gudauri begins in early December and lasts till the end of March. You can reach Gudauri from Tbilisi in approximately 2-3 hours.

Itinerary

Day tour in Gudauri
Tour will start in Tbilisi. We will drive to Georgian military road to the north. First sight on the road will be Jinvali water reservoir – pretty big handmade lake in the deep gorge. On the way short stop at Ananuri fortress, after visiting fortress continue driving to the north, into mountains.

After reaching Gudauri we will walk to cable road. If you are familiar with skiing you can rent skies. By cable road we will reach mount Kudebi, or Sadzele, top points of resort Gudauri at altitude 3700 m. From here are magnificent views on Caucasus mountains and it will be really very cold and very white. On your demand we can have a lunch in a  restaurant, near the cable way, with amazing view on snow-covered mountains. On your demand you also can have a paragliding.

This tour is available from December until April.
